Flight Cancellation
Rights in case of cancellation according to Regulation (EC) No 261/2004
Compensation
Passengers affected by a cancellation are entitled to compensation ranging from €250 to €600 depending on the flight distance:
- €250 for flights up to 1,500 km
- €400 for intra-Community flights over 1,500 km and for all other flights between 1,500 and 3,500 km
- €600 for flights over 3,500 km
Assistance
Additionally, you are entitled to:
Exceptions
You will not be entitled to compensation if the airline informs you:
- At least two weeks in advance
- Between two weeks and seven days in advance and offers you alternative transport departing no more than 2 hours earlier and arriving no more than 4 hours later
- Less than seven days in advance and offers you alternative transport departing no more than 1 hour earlier and arriving no more than 2 hours later
Compensation will not be due if there are extraordinary circumstances that could not have been avoided by the airline.

Values in the Montreal Convention are measured in Special Drawing Rights (SDR), a monetary composite established by the IMF. Currently, 1 SDR is approximately equivalent to €1.21.
